Friday 6th of june:

Today we didn’t work. We enjoyed the sun and Megan even started a new DIY project. With all the kittens in the camper it was time to make a cat-bed so they can look out of the window. Today was also a wash day, so Megan washed almost all the wash we collected over the week and hung it out to dry. Luckily the weather was hot, so in an hour the wash was dry again and ready to be worn. After that Jonny (A volunteer) came to invite us to the party of Dana (his wife). We went and had an amazing time. Megan roasted marshmallows with the children and Bryan talked with Dana and Jonny. We also played some Mario Kart again and it was a nice evening/night. At the end of the night we said our goodnights and started cleaning up, when Jonny found something special in his glass.

Saturday 7th of june:

We slept in today, because we went to bed late at night again. We didn’t have much planned today so we cleaned up the camper and enjoyed our time. After cleaning we decided to explore a little. We went to a place called Figueira da Foz to see a street market. After looking around we drove back. On the way back we stopped to do some groceries. In the evening we cleaned up a bit more for tomorrow, because Megan’s grandparents are coming. In the evening Megan made a bit more of the cat-bed she was creating.

Sunday 8th of june:

In the morning Megan’s grandparents arrived. We showed them around, drank some tea and cuddled with the kittens. After a little while we decided to go to the land that Megan’s parents are buying. A little road trip later and we found the place. We went to a little coffee shop and talked for a bit before heading up to the land. Because of the warm weather these few days the grass was really high and dry. So it looked worse than it normally is. We looked around for a while before heading back to our place. We wanted to go out for dinner, but because of ‘Pinksteren’ a lot of restaurants were closed. We found one that was open but getting there we had our questions. When we walked in it was all fine and we had a lovely dinner together. After dinner we drove back to the camper and said our goodbyes. In the evening we relaxed and cuddled with the kittens.

Monday 9th of june:

Monday morning we woke up with a little surprise from the kittens. They found the plant… They almost killed it and there was dirt everywhere. After we cleaned up the mess it was time to work. Megan removed stones and garbage out of an animal pen. and Bryan worked with Jonny to install a new stone picnic table. While Megan was cleaning out the pen, the pigs from the other pen came to look at what she was doing and it was cute to see. There were little piglets. The weather was hot so we didn’t work all day. After lunch Megan had tutoring lessons till the late afternoon and Bryan worked a bit more with Jonny.

Tuesday 10th of june:

Tuesday we worked in the garden again. Megan started with lifting up the rocks, but it was way too heavy to carry up the hill. So she cleaned out the other pen first. Bryan helped to clean out the trailer with the other volunteers. We had lunch and after Bryan went back to work and Megan started with her tutoring lessons for the day. In the evening Jan went inside again, but after a little while he had enough of the kittens. He slept like normal next to Megan after the kittens were put in the carrier.

Wednesday 11th of june:

Today Bryan helped Megan to get rid of the stones with the tractor. After a while Jonny came to help as well. After lunch Megan worked again with her students and Bryan and Jonny worked together. After tutoring Megan came down to see Bryan and Jonny and talk with Dana and the girls. The girls wanted to cuddle with the kittens, so we went up the hill to our camper and had a lovely cuddle time. In the evening it was DIY time again and the cat-bed is almost done. It is possible to hang now and the kittens like it!

Thursday 12th of june:

Bryan went down to cut the tree and Megan worked with her students for most of the day. When she had a little break to go to the toilet it happened… Megan fell down. Luckily not that hard and only her leg and hand were a bit scraped up. But Megan’s phone was cracked. It still works so that is a plus. We had a nice evening and went down to Dana and Jonny again.
